This club provides students with opportunities to explore and further develop artistic skills. Students work under the guidance of elementary school art teacher, Mrs. Hammes. This club meets after school on specific dates of the week. A sign-up sheet is made available with school announcements as a way to make students aware of this opportunity.
Explorers of the Imagination
The Explorers of the Imagination Club begins at the end of November and each Tuesday after school through the end of February. Students work in teams to complete a variety of challenges that require students to use creative writing skills, engineering design skills and scientific thinking. Elementary teachers Mrs. Stecker and Mrs. Kossman are the club’s advisors.
Fire Safety and Prevention Poster Contest
Students are encouraged to create a poster that captures a theme associated with fire safety and prevention. Students are provided materials and have an open canvas to create a message that illustrates a fire prevention theme. The posters are judged by art teacher Mrs. Hammes who also provides guidance and support to students as they plan and create their posters. The poster contest is sponsored by the Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah Fire Departments. First place winners are eligible to compete at the state level.
The kindness club allows students to work together to create various themes, activities, and celebrations in support of displaying kind acts, kind words, helping others, and being welcoming to each other. Elementary teacher Mrs. Stecker is the kindness club advisor.
Students are provided the option to share lunch once a week with an identified big brother or big sister. Students are also given the opportunity to spend time with middle school and high school student mentors who devote their time to come to know elementary students, share stories, share lunch time, and play games. Lunch buddies are arranged through School Counselor Mr. Shanahan.
There are other activities available for students that are sponsored by the Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah Athletic Association, Sheboygan County, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, and 4-H.
